Sugar Nellie Challenge 84

I'm entering this card in the "Free for All" over at the Sugar Bowl this week.

I thought I would use my Prismacolor Pencils for a change to colour this stamp which is called Jelly Pip. I have to say I was pleased with the result and I've made a note to myself to use them more often as an alternative to alcohol pens. Isn't she a sweetie.  I used s Spellbinder die to cut the layers and used cordinations card for one layer which I then embossed and sanded. The border punch is by Martha Stewart and the swirls by Marianne dies.

I'm also entering this in the Divas by Design Challenge - Fabulous Flourishes

Remember When .....

The new challenge at Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog is "Remember When .....". I've used a backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Ivory Cats CD and matted this onto some dark brown card. I stamped the image which is a rubber stamp in a series called Nostalgia by John Bryars. This particular one is called Swinging. I used promarkers to colour her in. I used a Spellbinders die for the oval frame and the leaf flourish is a Cheery Lyn die.

I used to love swings as a child so this image made me 'Remember When'.

House Mouse Midweek Squeek

I couldn't resist making this card for the midweek reminder at House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge which is my last card as a GDT for May.

I started by using a Spellbinders die to cut a large circular card with the fold at the top. I then cut a small amount off the back so that there is a flat edge for the card to stand up. I then used a Carolines Texture Mat to stamp the background bubbles (this was a very early purchase when I first started crafting but still very useful). I then cut this using a smaller Spellbinders circle die and ran a gold pen around the edge and attached it to my card. I then stamped the lovely House Mouse images that are from a stamp sheet by Joanna Sheen and die cut these out. The images are coloured using alcohol pens. To finish off I tied a bow using bakers twine and attached a charm. I then used self adhesive pebbles over a few of the bubbles and added a few touches of glitter to the smallest bubbles.

I'd like to say a big thank you to all of the HM&FMC team for inviting me to play along with them this month. xx

Waiting and Wishing

The challenge at Just Magnolia this week is Gingham. I used a sheet of backing paper by Papermania called Portobello Road which has a shabby chic appearance. I then die cut the weathered clock by Tim Holtz and used distress inks, Spun Sugar and Milled Lavender to colour it. The hands are held in place using a brad. The die cut swirls are from a sheet of paper I marbled using shaving foam with inks dropped into it and swirling the paper over the top. Its a bit messy to do but great fun as you never know what patterns you will end up with.

I stamped out my Tilda stamp and coloured her using alcohol pens and some paper piecing for her dress and hair ribbon. The paper flowers and gems are from my stash.

Old MacDonald Had a Farm

E I E I O! Another Sunday and another challenge at CD Sunday. This week we have one that will get everybody singing. I'm sure you will have lots of ideas for joining in our theme this week.

I used an A4 card for my design this week and used MCS Setting the Scene for the background. I used an image from Andy Carolan's CD Card Toonz for the frog driving the tractor which I decoupaged. I hope you have as much fun with this week's challenge as I had.

House Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge - Circles and Polka Dots

Now that we are half way through May HM&FMC have another fantastic challenge again this week - Circles and Polka Dots. I am a Guest DT member for May and this is my card.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut my circular card and the layers to make my circle easel card. The backing paper is from Lime Tree Crafts. The cloud effect layer I made using a mask and a distress ink pad. I then spritzed it with a mica spray for a little sparkle. The button border is a punch by EK Success. The scissors are a brad that I bought (along with other tools) from Joanna Sheen.

I hope you enjoy the challenge and look forward to visiting your blogs.

Here Comes Summer

I'm entering this card in the Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge for May. The theme is "Here Comes Summer" and after two days of glorious sunshine I actually feel it might be on its way.

The image is from a die cut decoupage sheet and the sentiment from the Paintbox Poppets stamps both from Crafter's Companion.

The border was done using a Martha Stewart punch. The other die cutting was done using Marianne dies.

Easy Elegance

I'm a bit late posting this morning (I blame the wine!). Anyway here is my card over at CD Sunday this week. Our theme is Easy Elegance and once again my teamies have come up trumps with some beautiful cards. I do hope you will go and take a look and join in our challenge this week.

The image I have used comes from Elegance CD by Keepsake Card Craft (the Glitter Girls). Its one I haven't looked at for ages but I found just what I was looking for. That's what I love about the CD Sunday challenges, it makes me revisit CDs that have been on my shelf for way too long gathering dust. (Note to self - I must reprimand the cleaner lol). I used the Hougie Board for the score lines and the image is layered onto a Spellbinders die.

My fellow teamie Purple Crazy is going to love my colour choice!

Reflections

Our theme for this week at CD Sunday is reflections. I chose this beautiful image from a cd by Debbees CDs called Waterside Watercolour. This uses an original watercolour painting by Debs very talented Mum. You can find Debbees CDs here. The image is so beautiful it doesn't need much embellishment - just some pretty ribbon and a die cut butterfly.

Do visit the CD Sunday Challenge Blog to see all the other inspirational cards and to join in this week's fun challenge.

Flower Power

The theme is Flower Power for the challenge on Joanna Sheen's Challenge Blog this week and I've made my card using a backing paper from Debbi Moore's Vintage Flowers from the Shabby Chic range and the topper from Victorian Botanical (at least I think it was that way round!)

I used a spellbinders die for the heart border and a Martha Stuart punch for the other border.

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge - Humour

Well I'm not sure if you can actually see me bouncing up and down here but today is a very exciting day for me. I am extremely honoured to have been invited by all the lovely people at House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge to join them for the month of May as a Guest Designer.

The theme for today's new challenge is HUMOUR and here is my interpretation:

I've used a 7x7 inch card for this and used a backing sheet from the House Mouse inserts CD from Joanna Sheen. The printable papers on this CD compliment all the lovely House Mouse stamps beautifully. I've had this particular wood mounted stamp for ages so it was nice to get it out again and use it on this card. I used to wonder how the faces on these pansy flowers were made - now we know! lol. The sprigs of leaves were die cut using a Cheery Lyn die and the main image was layered onto card cut using a Spellbinders die. I've used Distress Inks to colour the edges of my image and alcohol ink pens for the actual images. (I tend to use a mixture of Promarkers, Flex markers, Copics and Spectrum Noirs - I guess I'm just a girl who has to have them all!!!!!).

I do hope you will visit the HMFMC blog. There are some absolutely brilliant cards by the DT. I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs over the next couple of weeks to see all the fabulously funny cards you make. :-)

Don't forget to label your entry HMFMC119 so that we can find your entry and good luck as there are lovely prizes too. xx

Trees and Shrubs

Another Sunday and another challenge at CD Sunday. This week the theme is trees and shrubs. Hopefully that will generate lots of ideas from all of you.

I've used an image from American Frontier CD by Joanna Sheen for this tree picture. I've matted it onto dark brown card and then mounted it onto corrugated craft card. The die cut leaves are by Marianne dies and I've finished off with some card candy and ribbon.

Why not go over and see what my teamies have been up to this week. We have a whole forest of trees for you to look at.

Happy May Day!

Well, it's the first of May and that means that there is a new challenge over at Debbees CD's Challenge Blog and a new prize to be won. Debs has given us some lovely papers to download and work with this month. All my fellow teamies have come up with great designs to inspire you this month, and all very different. Do go over and have a look and then download the free papers and show us what you can do. We enjoy visiting your blogs to admire your handy work.

I particularly like what Debs has created this month :-) lol!
