Garden Pleasures - CD Sunday

We have a lovely theme for you this week over at CD Sunday Challenge Blog and just right for all this lovely weather we have been having. It's Garden Pleasures. Lots of scope with this one so I do hope you will all join in.

Here's what I decided to do:

I used a CD called Chantilly Flutterbys by Fee J Designs for the backing papers and main butterfly image I used as one of the things I love in the garden this time of year is to see the buterflies.

I used a hexagon shape for my card but I also decided to make a paper mache bowl. I had seen the idea in a copy of Craft Stamper earlier this year and had a lot of fun tearing strips of paper and gluing them in layers to an old bowl that I had coated in petroleum jelly and then covered with cling film (this made it easier to remove my bowl once it was all dry). For the last layer inside and out I used the pretty backing papers off the CD. Once it was all done I used Crafters Companion Spray and Shine to give it a protective coat.

I can't wait to see what pretty things you make this week.

  1. Oh wow - I was wondering how the bowl matched the card. It's fab Jocelyn. Such a great idea and so pretty too.

  2. A gorgeous card Jocelyn, such a great shape and a wonderful idea to make a matching bowl.

  3. WOW from me too Jocelyn, I was wondering how you made the bowl, now I know and something different to try. Love the shape of the card too.

  4. Hi Jocelyn. You know I love this bowl - you clever 'ole' thing.
Lovely idea to have the two things together.
