Crafters Companion Challenge 5

I've used the Adorables CD and stamps for this month's sketch challenge from Crafter's Companion

Sir Stampalot September Challenge

All Distressed.
I've used a set of Kanban stamps for the main image and two decorative swirls in the corners.
I started by taking some cream card and spritzing it with Glimmer Mists before stamping the main image and colouring with promarkers. I then mounted this onto some Cordinations card that I die cut using Nestabilities Beaded Circles. The backing paper is off a CD (can't remember which one as this was in my 'bits box'). I scrumpled it up and then ironed it flat so that I could use Tea Dye Distress Ink on the edges and then stamp the swirls using Versafine Vintage Sepia.
The lower circle with the flowers I made using three layers of toilet paper spritzed with Glimmer Mists and while it was still wet I put it through the Cuttlebug in an embossing folder. I then left it overnight to dry before die cutting the circle out.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Week 117

Purple, Cream and Brown

was the challenge for this week.
The scan hasn't worked very well as the paper roses in the middle of the flowers are quite raised.

The Sugar Bowl Challenge 42

This card is made using Lilian's Sketch with a theme of pearls for the Sugar Bowl Challenge this week.

For the embossed background to this card I used a technique I saw demo'd by Ali Reeve recently. First of all you need to layer three sheets of toilet paper (!) then spray it with mica colours. While it is still wet I then put it in an embossing folder and passed it through my Cuttlebug then left it to dry. It gives the look of handmade paper and an interesting texture to a card.

I had a lot of fun with this one looking through my mountainous button stash (well we've all got them lol) and it was great to have an opportunity to use some of them so thank you to the CD Sunday Challenge team for choosing the buttons and bows theme.
