Twas the Night before Christmas

Ooo guess what. It's my turn to choose the theme at CD Sunday Challenge Blog this time.

I decided to pick 'Twas the Night before Christmas' so if you have a last minute card to make now is the time and you can enter our challenge at the same time. :-)

Don't forget to check out the other DT member's and their great makes.

I used an image and backing paper from the House Mouse Project Book CD by Joanna Sheen. The main image is decoupaged and layered onto green card. I then added some die cut branches and ribbon. The ribbon at the bottom of the card has a die cut happy Christmas added and I found some little lights that I have had for ages and glued these on as well.

I do hope you will have time to join us in the busy run up to Christmas Day.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

This week Margaret has chosen the theme for CD Sunday. So let's make it a "White Christmas".

We sparkled and shone through our last challenge and winners will be announced on CD Sunday Challenge Blog once Wynn has chosen her top three.

But back to White Christmas with my card:

I started by embossing a white 8 x 8 card with a snowflake embossing folder from Crafter's Companion. I cut a stitched detail oval (by Crealies) to back my printed image from Christmas Trees CD by Robert Addams and mounted that onto the card. I then cut out two deer and added these to the scene.

The poinsettias are by Marianne dies with little gems in the middle, the branches and swirls from Elizabeth Crafts and the snowflake corner from Memory Box.

Sparkle and Shine

Time for another CD Sunday challenge and this time Wynn has chosen Sparkle and Shine so whether it is another Christmas card for the stash or a special birthday we want to see lots of sparkly shiny things.

I think the pic below shows off some of the sparkle better.

I've used papers from Christmas in Holly Pond Hill CD by Joanna Sheen and added lots of glitter and tiny gems for the strings of beads on the tree. I also added die cuts from Memory Box dies and added more gems to those.

I can't wait to see how much sparkle and shine will be on our entries this time around.

Father Christmas

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas .... la lala la ......

This week Meg has chosen our theme of Father Christmas for the CD Sunday Challenge. You will find all the details and how to enter here.

The winner of our special sponsored challenge last time will be announced soon so don't forget to keep checking the CD Sunday Challenge Blog.

Now on to Father Christmas ...

I've used Christmas with the Wrinklies CD by La Pashe for the main image and  Raymond Briggs Father Christmas by Crafter's Companion for the backing paper.

Dies used:

Merry Christmas - Crafters Companion
Snow Globe - Creative Expressions Sue Wilson die
Beaded Circle Frames - Elizabeth Dies

The holly leaves, berries and snow flakes came free with a magazine ages ago and the gems are on a roll which can be snipped to the shape/size required. I used PVA glue to stick them down.

I hope you join us for this challenge - it's a good kick start to all those Christmas cards if you haven't started already!

Paws

Our theme at CD Sunday this week is PAWS. This is a special challenge chosen by Sharon Duncan - please pop over to CD Sunday Challenge Blog for full details of our new challenge and how to enter.

Without further ado here is my card:

The image and backing papers are from Sharon Duncan's CD Playful Pups.

I used an octagon score board to make the larger backing shapes and Spellbinder dies for the smaller ones. The 'grass' is a Marianne die, the swirls are from Elizabeth Crafts and the flowers (my new favourites) are by Sweet Dixie.

Country Living

Time for a new theme at CD Sunday Challenge Blog and this time we are County Living with Pamela. What a great theme choice, I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone does with this one.

Here is my interpretation using the following CDs:

Nostalgia Collection CD by Joanna Sheen - main images
Printable Gingham, Polka Dot, Check & Tartan Backing Papers CD by Robert Addams

I used a 7 x 10" base card and matted the backing paper and images onto toning card. I then used bakers twine and card candi to embellish.

If you visit CD Sunday Challenge Blog you will find lots of inspiration from my fellow teamies and also everything you need to know about how to enter - don't forget to use something from a CD and let us know which one. It may be one we haven't seen before and we all love to shop ! lol.

Things with Wheels

Time for another challenge at CD Sunday Challenge Blog and this time is it Carol's turn to choose the theme. There are lots of things with wheels  so a lovely challenge which I hope you will join in with.

I've gone with an image from Joanna Sheen's CD using artwork by Faye Whittaker for the main image and backing paper. I used black card for mats and layers onto a 7 x 10 card. The border is a Martha Stewart punch and the bunting is a Signature die from Joanna Sheen. I decided to fill the little cut out hears with tiny gems in red, white and blue - it took a while but I got there and I am pleased with the effect.

Don't forget to visit CD Sunday Challenge Blog to see the inspiration from my fellow teamies. There are also some simple rules for joining in, the main one being you must use something from a CD and let us know which one you used.

I hope you wheelie have fun with this challenge.

Shades of Autumn

First of all thank you to those of you who entered my challenge of HOT HOT HOT. I will  be choosing my top three to be announced over on CD Sunday Challenge Blog later.

But now it is time for a new challenge. Pauline has chosen Shades of Autumn. A great choice I hope you will agree as the year is just starting to turn and the trees will be showing off some beautiful colours for us all to enjoy.

Here is my interpretation:

Ingredients:

Through the year with Seraphina CD for the image and backing papers.
I used some plain card for the mats and layers which were cut using Spellbinders large squares and circles dies.
The little die cut leaves are Sue Wilson dies.

I hope you are able to join us this time around and have fun with the challenge.

Don't forget to visit CD Sunday Challenge Blog for more inspiration from my fellow teamies.

Hot Hot Hot!

We had some fabulous entries for Wynn's challenge over at the CD Sunday Challenge Blog but now it is my turn to choose the theme and very appropriately at the moment I feel it is HOT HOT HOT (at least it has been and apparently will be again in a few days).

Here is my card:

Ingredients:

You're Never too Old to .... CD by Card Creations Plus featuring the artwork of Sue Janson.
Some red card
Gingham Ribbon
Marianne Design Craftable - Ribbon & Threading Wave Die
Happy Birthday All Occasion Dies by Rob Addams

Have fun and don't forget to visit the CD Sunday Challenge Blog to find out how to enter and see the fun things the team have come up with this time. :-)

Clarity August Challenge

Ingredients:

Clarity bird and flower rows stamp
Clarity word chain 5
Clarity stencil (stencil club)
Artistry Inks
Clarity brushes
Moon Mask
Gelli plate scrap

I've been trying out the new Artistry Inks that a bought recently and I have to say I like them very much. I used one of the lovely Clarity brushes to swirl the ink through the stencil. I hadn't realised when I did this that there was a small amount of mica powder still on the brush from another project. It gave the ink a lovely sheen, especially around the moon mask - definitely a happy accident and one I will be doing again as I like the effect.

I fussy cut the birds that I had stamped onto a gelli plate scrap I had laying around in my craft room. One day I might get round to tidying up - but that won't be today.

I'm entering this card in the Clarity Stamp Challenge this month.

Sunday 7 August 2016

Let's Shape it up!

One of our new team members, Margaret has chosen our theme this time at CD Sunday and what a great choice. If you pop over to CD Sunday Challenge Blog you will see that the team have come up with some very different shapes and I'm sure you can all think of lots more - we would love to see them so please do join in this time around. We would love to see you.

Here is my shape!

I used a WS Design template called ginger jar for my base card. I thought it was perfect for this image and backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Christmas CD. I matted the main image onto some red card to pick out the little child's blouse and used a piece of the same card to die cut the trim along the bottom (this die is Creative dies craft essentials  from Craft Stash). I attached the image onto the card using foam tape. I used some gingham ribbon to tie around the top of the jar and tied a double bow. This particular ribbon is lovely and soft and ties beautifully. (It is by Three Kings Ribbon and I think I probably got it from here http://www.fantasticribbons.com/gingham-ribbon).

I then just added a die cut fork and spoon under the ribbon to finish. (This little die is wafer thin and I've had it for ages but cannot remember the maker).

Please have fun and join in with us.

Fab 'n' Feminine

Our Sue has decided to step down from the design team at CD Sunday and I know we will all miss her but she will be joining in some of the challenges so it is not goodbye but au revoir and we all wish her well.

Wynn has chosen Fab 'n' Feminine for our new theme and there are some wonderful cards over on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog so please do go and take a look. You will find all the details about how to join in and there is always a prize to be won.

I used Debbi Moore Art Deco Celebrations CD for the image . I made a rocker card using Spellbinder circle dies for the base and topper. The feathers are sandwiched between the front and the back of the topper to make it look neat from every angle. I used the wink of stella pen to her headdress and pearls to add a bit of sparkle. I also managed to use up some peel offs around the edge of the rocker. So a very small dent has been made in the peel off mountain!

I had a spare image left from the sheet I printed off so made another one in a different colour.

Don't forget to be Fab 'n' Feminine right now!xx

Summer Vacation

Time for another challenge at CD Sunday and this time Meg has chosen Summer Vacation. Perfect for this time of year.

I used an 8 x 8 embossing folder from Crafter's Companion to make the background to my card before mounting an image printed from Verity Rose CD, also from Crafter's Companion. This little character is called Sunbeam. The shells are die cuts from the same range and the fabric flowers which I've had in my stash for a long time came from Joanna Sheen.

My teamies have all made wonderful cards for you to see so please do visit CD Sunday Challenge Blog to see more and find out how to enter this week's new challenge.

Once upon a time

Well I hope you all enjoyed our last challenge but now it's time for a new one at CD Sunday and it's Carol's turn to choose.

Once upon a time ......

I used Forest Friends CD Collection 3 from Cupcake Crafting with artwork by Betty Davies for my backing paper and main image. The border was punched using a Martha Stewart punch around the page and the words are a rubber stamp that I have had for a very long time.

The team have lots of lovely designs for you to see at CD Sunday Challenge Blog so do go over and take a look.

Sunday 12 June 2016

No Images or Photos

I will be choosing my top three for our last challenge of Let's go Lilac so that will keep me busy with all the lovely entries we had.

This time it is Sue's turn to choose a theme for us and she has come up with something a bit different to challenge us all. We have our new team members joining us this time around so there are lots of lovely inspirational designs for you to enjoy and give you ideas. Don't forget to visit CD Sunday Challenge Blog for all the details of how to join in. You just need to remember to use something from a CD somewhere in your design and let us know which one you used.

Anyway here is my card this time around.

I decided to make an easel card this time and have used two backing papers from Shabby Chic Paper Delight sCD  by Debbi Moore. I used these to cover the front and base of the card.

I've then used dies to cut my designs out of white card. The trellis base and the words are from Crafter's Companion, the scalloped circle cut from the backing paper is a Tonic die and the white fancy circle is a Spellbinders die. The flowers on the stopper on the inside are Sue Wilson dies.

The team have made some lovely cards for you to enjoy this time so please do go and visit CD Sunday Challenge Blog and if you have time to visit their personal blogs and leave some love that would be nice too.

Let's go Lilac

We had some lovely entries for our last challenge at CD Sunday but today it is time for a new challenge and this time the theme has been chosen by me :-)

So .............. Let's go Lilac.

Here is my card.

Oh my stars! I just love that sentiment, depending on how you say it it could mean lots of different things.

Anyway before I tell you more about my card I need to tell you that there is some exciting news over on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog about our new teamies who will be joining us for our next challenge. Please do go over to CD Sunday to say hello to them and visit their blogs to leave some love.

The CD I have used is Verity Rose from Crafter's Companion. I printed out one of the backing papers and also a sheet of embellishments from the folder containing images for Moonstruck who is the little character featured on this card. The whole collection comes with embossing folders, stamps and dies so I've been able to mix and match all the different elements.

The embossed center panel was embossed onto kraft card and then rubbed over with distress inks and finished off with some silver gilding wax.

Something beginning with B

We are at the start of another challenge for CD Sunday. Where does the time go?

Wynn has chosen our theme this time and it is Something beginning with B. There must be lots and lots of things but this is my interpretation.

I went with Bags and Bows for my Bs.

The backing paper is from Baby Love CD by Joanna Sheen and I've matted this onto some Coordinations card. The tags are from Work and Play Collection 11 by Polkadoodles. I edged them with a alcohol marker to match my colour scheme. I used a Tonic die to cut out my main image which is a digi by Sherri Baldy. I've coloured her in using alcohol pens and Spectrum Noir pencils. I just love the big eyes on these characters that are called 'My Besties'.

Can't wait to see which 'Bs' you will choose.

Songs from the Movies

Wow that was some party we had for our birthday celebrations. We are still clearing up and taking out the empties!

Happy 1st of May everyone and time for a new challenge.

Carol has chosen our theme this time and this one will have you singing along. Songs from the Movies - which one will you chose?

Here is mine:

Singing in the Rain. I've used the following papers/CDs Main image - Mabel Lucie Attwell Vol 1, Backing papers - Raindrops Crafters Companion Compendium, Joanna Sheen - Faye Whittaker Umbrellas x 2

I used a music embossing folder and die cut a few extra umbrellas.

Visit CD Sunday to check out what the rest of the design team have come up with and also there is some exciting news ........ so do go over and take a look.

Sunday 17 April 2016

It's our BIRTHDAY at CD Sunday!

Now we are Six!

We have something special going on this time for our challenge. CD Sunday first started on 18 April 2010 and as it is our birthday this week we are doing something a bit different for this challenge.

HAPPY  BIRTHDAY  TO  US!

This will be one of our easiest challenges ever and there are lots of prizes available. Here is a photo of what is on offer from me -

Pack of 4 x 6 cards and envelopes
Merry Christmas ribbon
The Snowman 5 x 7 embossing folder
Marianne design stamp - Snoesjes
Classic Christmas CD by Katy Sue Designs

If you visit my fellow teamies they will be showing their prizes along with their favourite card. Full details of how to enter and be in with a chance of winning are on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog so why not pop over and take a look. Don't forget to let us know which CD you used for your all time favourite entry. If you are a newbie there are details of how you can join in too.

Here is my favourite card:

I went back to 18th May 2014 for this one. Our challenge theme was 'One for the Boys' and I used  Polkadoodles' CD Pretty Tuff.

I've matted the backing paper onto red card to start. I then took a Crafter's Companion Embossilicous folder with Co-ordinations card and sanded the image back. This then also went onto the red card. The large note is a Marianne die and the smaller notes are a Tattered Lace die. There are some great images on this CD and this is just one of them. I cut around him leaving a tiny white border and mounted him on foam pads.

I then took some of the Clarity stamp word chain stamps to stamp direct onto my card using a black Versafine ink pad. I bet some of you are now thinking 'she must be mad stamping onto a finished card' but I did it that way around so that I could see exactly where I wanted the words. :-).

I've picked this card as my favourite for the following reasons:

1.  This was one of my challenge selections.

2.  It uses a CD, dies, an embossing folder and stamping (I like to incorporate lots of things into my crafting - it helps to justify all the things I keep buying!).

3.  I particularly like the use of red on this card as it really 'pops'.

4.  My stamping direct to card was a success! Yay me!

Which will your favourite be??????????

Sunday 3 April 2016

Get Well Wishes

Well I'm blown away by the lovely entries for my challenge at CD Sunday over the last two weeks. It will take me a while to choose my Top 3.

It is Sue's turn to set the challenge for the next two weeks and she has chosen Get Well Wishes. So many people I know are not feeling well at the moment so this is very appropriate.

Here is my card.

I used a large Spellbinder die to cut a circle that I then folded in half to make a rocker card.

The image, backing paper and sentiment are all printed from Joanna Sheen House Mouse CD Volume One. I used a couple of dies to layer the decoupage onto - the open lacy one from Crafter's Companion and the circular one from Tonic.

I do hope that little house mouse is feeling better soon. The rocker card will help him sleep lol.

For anyone not feeling too well at the moment I wish you better very soon. xx

All Creatures Great and Small

Everyone seemed to enjoy Wynn's colour challenge at CD Sunday and I hope you will enjoy my challenge just as much.

I've picked All Creatures Great and Small and hope you will have lots of ideas for this challenge.

Here is my card:

I used two CDs for this card - Times Gone By from Joanna Sheen for the main image and Printable Gingham by Robert Addams for the two backing papers.

The main image has been matted onto black card so that it stands out. I then added some die cut bunting and peel off letters to read Hen Party.

Don't forget to visit CD Sunday Challenge Blog for more inspiration and details of how to enter.

Sunday 6 March 2016

Colour Challenge - New Baby

Another new challenge and this time Wynn has a colour challenge for us at CD Sunday.

Here is the inspiration -

Isn't that cute? Just look at all those lovely colours.

Here is what I made -

I used Joanna Sheen's Precious Petals cd. This is a lovely CD that I come back to time and again. So many little cuties on here. I used a die cut to frame my main image and another die to make the bunting, I used some epoxy stickers that I've had in my stash for ages to spell out BABY. I also found these little feet in some peel offs I have.

I have a friend who is expecting a baby soon so my card is ready and waiting :-).

I wonder what you will do with Wynn's colour challenge. To take a closer look head over to CD Sunday Challenge Blog and find out how to enter.

Sunday 21 February 2016

Thank You

Carol has chosen our theme this time for CD Sunday Challenge Blog. We are all saying Thank You and for me this means Thank You for joining in and playing along with us.

To join in just remember to use an image or backing papers from a CD that you have (in fact any part of your design can be from a CD), just remember to tell us which CD you have used.

If you go over to the CD Sunday Challenge Blog you will see what my fellow teamies have for you and also to find out my Top 3 for my challenge of Seasons from 24 January.

For my card this week I thought I'd go for a clean and simple look for a change and used a white embossed card, a white die cut surrounding my main image and white ribbon. I die cut the sentiment in bright blue to compliment the background of the image and also so that it stands out a little.

My image is from Joanna Sheen's Ivory Cats CD. I love this image as it reminds me of my Daisy.

Sunday 7 February 2016

Buttons

Time for a new challenge at CD Sunday and it is Sue's turn to choose this time. Sue would like us to use a button, or buttons, in our design. If you are anything like me you will have loads to choose from :-)

I made my card using a three panel pre-cut card.

I used the Gnomes and Fairies CD from La Pashe and printed off two sheets of backing paper, one to cover the front of the card and the other for the inside. I then used a Spellbinder die to cut an aperture in the first two panels.

I sandwiched some acetate between the apertures and then stuck the two panels together to form the front of the card. On the inside I printed off one of the scenes from the CD and added this to the grass backing paper. The Happy Birthday was cut using a Crafters' Companion die.

The decoupage for the gnome has a front and back view so I built up the image on the front of the card using foam pads and then did the same thing on the inside using the back view pieces.

I added some dotty ribbon and the greeting that came on the design sheet. The leaves are die cut and some of my favourites at the moment, (I think they are from Britannia) which just left me to add those all important buttons which look like flowers among the foliage.

Don't forget to check out what my fellow teamies at CD Sunday Challenge Blog have to show you this time. To join in all you have do to is remember to use something from a CD and let us know which one.

We had some lovely entries last time around for my theme choice of Seasons so I'm going to be busy later today choosing my Top 3.

Friday 5 February 2016

Lots of Red

I've made this card for the new challenge at Digi Design Challenge Blog using papers and card from my stash to mat and layer my main image onto. I searched through my ribbon collection and found some pretty red spotty ribbon. The die cut flowers are made using a die from Joanna Sheen's Signature range. I used alcohol pens and polychromos pencils to colour the image. I added a touch of glossy accents to the ladybird and then I remembered that years ago I had bought a kit that contained lots of wooden ladybirds so I added one of those to my die cut flowers.

So here is my entry into Digi Design Challenge Blog.

Sunday 24 January 2016

Seasons

Well that's another fortnight gone by in a flash and now it's time for a new challenge at CD Sunday Challenge Blog. Wynn will be choosing her top 3 from all the lovely entries we had and this time around it is my turn to choose a theme. I've gone with Seasons and hope that everyone will have lots of ideas for this.

Here is mine:

I've used Joanna Sheen's Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady and used some yellow card for matting and layering. I used some grosgrain ribbon, die cut some green fronds and stamped a greeting using a Cuddly Buddly stamp.

I'll be around blog land later to see what everyone comes up with for the new CD Sunday Challenge.

Sunday 10 January 2016

Wild Flowers

This week Wynn has chosen the theme for our CD Sunday Challenge and what a great one it is. Flowers are starting to peep through already in East Sussex so lets see lots of flowers growing wild in your projects this time around.

I used Shabby Chic Victorian Botanical CD by Debbi Moore for the backing paper, main image with a few decoupaged flower heads. The poppy seed heads are a stamp by Glenda Waterworth that I've had for years. The punched border is a Martha Stewart punch embellished with flat back pearls. I used a quickie glue pen to fix them on which is a bit fiddly but worth it for the end effect. I used black card to mat and layer and was pleased with the overall effect.

Don't forget to let us know which CD you have used in your design - if it's one we haven't seen yet it may mean we need to go shopping!
