Think of a Number - CD Sunday

Well here we are nearly at the end of another year. I really don't know where the time goes! We have had some great challenges at CD Sunday  this year and some great guests too. This week is no exception and our challenge this week is 'Think of a Number'.

I chose to make a card for my friend's son who was 18 recently.

I used a backing paper from Crafters Companion Boys 'n' Girls CD for the background and also stamped the H and B onto it as well. Those letters are from a set by Dimension Fourth.

The team and our guest Lynn have all made some lovely cards to inspire you.

Here's to 2013,  let's hope its a good one with lots of great crafting and blogging. Wishing you all health and happiness.

All About Birthdays - CD Sunday

Well here it is ...... Merry Christmas! The last challenge before Christmas at CD Sunday and this week I have used a Mabel Lucie Attwell CD by Katy Sue Designs. I made this for our receptionist at work. I love these images and reminds me of a book I had as a child. :-)

I do hope that you have time to join us this week with a card that is 'All About Birthdays'.

Have a good Christmas everyone. xx

Merry Kissmas

I'm entering this card in the Spectrum Noir Challenge - Winter Blues.

I've used the following Spectrum Noir pens to colour in this SWALK rubber stamp:

FS1, FS6, FS8
TN1, TN2, TN3
BGR1
IB1, IB2
TB1, TB2, TB3, TB4, TB6, TB9
CR1

I used some cordinations card for one of the layers (I used a Tim Holtz distress tool on the edges of this). I then cut a heart shape and passed this through an embossing folder and sanded the dots.

Thank you for looking.

CD Sunday - Teddy Bears

Morning everyone. Our theme this week at CD Sunday is Teddy Bears so I do hope you will join us this week and show us your favourite teddies. I've used Meadow Cottage Bears CD by Crafters Companion for my card. The pink roses are from a decoupage sheet that I've had for ages but they were just right for framing a new die cut that I got when I was at the NEC in November :-).

Winter Friends

I'm entering my card today in the December Crafters Companion Challenge - Winter Friends.

I've used a SWALK image that I have stamped and coloured using Spectrum Noir pens and matted this onto Spellbinder die cuts. The backing paper is from Christmas in Mulberry Wood CD and then sprayed with silver Spray & Sparkle. The border die cut is by Die sire. The other dies are from Marianne.

Thank you for looking.

CD Sunday - Frosty Days

Morning everyone!

First of all congratulations to Colleen for winning our sponsored challenge last week which was sponsored by The Art of Craft.

We have a very appropriate theme for you this week at CD Sunday - Frosty Days, I'm sure we have all had a few of those lately.

I used Robert Addams Christmas Trees CD for my main image. I used Spellbinder dies to make the double layer window. The dies are from Marianne and the stamped sentiment is Crafters Companion.

Stay warm on these chilly days. xx

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:

Spectrum Noir Challenge

I used a Mulberry Wood stamp for this card coloured using the following Spectrum Noir pens

LV1, LV2, HB1, HB2, HB3
CT1, PL1 PP1, CG1, CG2, LG4

I used a Spellbinder die to cut out the bauble and used Iced Spruce Distress Ink around the edges. The backing paper is from Crafters Companion Christmas in Mulberry Wood CD printed onto Centura Pearl printable paper. The die cut swirls are from Memory Box. I used plain white card to cut these and then sprayed them with the pink iridescent spray by Crafters Companion. The base card is Kraft card.

I'm entering this card in the Spectrum Noir Challenge that can be found here.

CD Sunday - Oh Christmas Tree

Well here we are at the beginning of December. As it is a new month we have a lovely sponsor this week  at CD Sunday.

The winner this week will get a £10 voucher from The Art of Craft .

We have also said goodbye to our Guest DT member Pauline and for the month of December we have Lynn  joining us. You will find her blog here Linby.

This week's theme has been chosen by Caz and here is my interpretation. I'm sure most of us still have some cards that need making so hopefully this challenge will help.

The CD I have used for my card this week is Joanna Sheen's Giordano Christmas Creations. I've matted and layered the image and added a couple of Marianne die cuts with ribbon to finish.

I am looking forward to visiting your blogs this week to see lots of Christmas trees.

CD Sunday - Inspired by Nature

This week at CD Sunday it was my turn to chose the theme so I picked 'Inspired by Nature'. I hope that gives you lots of ideas for inspiration. My fellow teamies and our lovely Guest DT member Pauline from Crafting with Cotnob  have come up with some lovely things for you to look at.

For my card I used an 8 x 8 base and matted and layered some backing paper from Flower Fairies Friends Fairies of the Garden CD by Crafters Companion. I used the Canterbury Bell rubber stamp and coloured her in using my Spectrum Noir pens in the following colours:

Leaves:  DG1, DG2
Skin: FS1, FS2, FS5
Stamen in flower: GB1
Petals: HB1, HB2, LV1, LV2
Clothes and Wings: PP1, PP2, PL1

Glitter (of course)

I used Distress Inks around the edge of the image. I then used my Marianne dies to cut out the words and lilac flowers. The white flower is a Spellbinder die.

I do hope you will join our challenge this week. The weather outside is awful so we might as well stay home and craft :-).

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:

CD Sunday - Layer it up

Its a new week and this time our challenge at CD Sunday is Layer it up. Lots of scope for you to get your CDs out and show us lots of lovely layers.

As we are getting near to Christmas and I haven't made nearly enough cards I thought I'd go with a Christmas theme for my card this week.

I used Crafters Companion Cute Companions Winter Tales CD for the background scene. I then used some cordinations card and a spellbinder die to cut a frame which I passed through an embossing folder and sanded. To this I have added Stamped images from Cute Companions coloured with alcohol pens. The tree and lamp are Marianne die cuts and the snow flakes are layers of punched out snowflakes in different coloured papers. I then layered the whole lot onto silver mirri card before adding it to my base card.

My teamies this week have lots of lovely ideas for you this week so do go and have a look.

CD Sunday - Rainy Days

We had lots of lovely interpretations of last week's theme - Christmas in Pink. I must apologise if I haven't commented on your blog but I have been away at the NEC this week. I will be back later today and will have a catch up once I've unpacked.

Jenny has chosen our theme at CD Sunday  for this week which is Rainy Days. Very appropriate at the moment as we have had a lot of those!

I used a 6 x 6 Kraft card for my base. The two backing papers I've used are from Faye Whittaker  (top) and
House Mouse Inserts  (bottom) both CDs are by  Joanna Sheen. My topper is from a sheet of decoupage I've had for ages and is a Mabel Lucie Attwell character. I finished off with some die cut umbrellas.

I hope you enjoy looking at the things my fellow teamies have come up with and feel inspired to join in. xx

Say it with Flowers

I've used a Popcorn stamp that I have coloured using the following Spectrum Noir pens:

TN3, TN2, TN1, DG1, DG2, DG3, HB1, HB2, PL1, EB1, EB2, EB4, GB6, BT1, OR2, LY1

The backing paper is from Popcorn the Bear CD. I then used some cordinations card embossed with a Sheena Douglas embossing folder and sanded lightly over the top. The sentiment is taken from one of the Souffle stamp sheets and embossed with Wow powder. The die cut leaves and flowers are Marianne dies and I've added lace, ribbon and a flower charm to finish.

I'm entering this card in the Spectrum Noir Challenge - Flowers

CD Sunday Christmas in Pink

As it is a new month we have another lovely sponsor with us this week at CD Sunday. Dreamees have chosen our theme of Christmas in Pink and have a prize to give to the winner this week so I hope you will join in our challenge for the start of November. Let's see how pink you can go!

I'm doing this post quickly as we have the grandchildren with us this weekend but might get more time later today. :-)

I've just got a few minutes so I thought I'd come on and give you a few more details about this week's challenge.

Our sponsor this week is a fairly small company who do cd's, stamps all with original artwork so their web site is worth a visit. Dreamees are offering a prize of a cd from their £9.99 range to our winner and as the files we are working with have come from their cd Christmas Memories hopefully you will get a small taste of the kind of thing you can expect.

We have a new guest joining us this month,  Pauline from Crafting with Cotnob  I do hope you will visit her blog and enjoy looking at the beautiful things she creates.

CD Sunday - Beautiful Blue

Our theme this week at CD Sunday is Beautiful Blue so we would love to see lots of lovely blue creations this week. I've made a wedding card using papers from Crafters Companion Love CD. I've used lots of punches and dies to achieve a lacy effect. I thought I'd add a feather too as I haven't used feathers on a card for ages (and I've got quite a big box of them!)

CD Sunday - Poetry Corner

I enjoyed visiting your blogs for our Autumn Splendour challenge last week. We had some lovely entries again.

Its Sunday again so here we go with a new challenge for a new week.

Our Theme this week at CD Sunday is 'Poetry Corner' and this image from Joanna Sheen's CD In Other Words just caught my imagination and appealed to my slightly quirky sense of humour.

Here is another version along the same lines using the same image to make a very different card:

I took the image this time into CAP and added the puss cat  to make a label for the bottle (he looks  remarkably like my Bramble).

Anyway I hope you will join us this week with poems, rhymes and such like. Let your imagination run wild just remember to use something from a cd as part of your design and don't forget to tell us which CD you used.

CD Sunday - Autumn Splendour

Another week at CD Sunday and the weather is starting to turn towards the end of the year so our theme this week of Autumn Splendour will hopefully give you lots of inspiration from all around.

I chose to use one of the lovely images from Enchanted CD Card Creations Plus which has the artwork of the very talented Linda Ravenscroft. (Wish I could draw like that!)

I decided to make a criss cross card and have used a matching backing paper from the CD to cover my card. The main image was mounted onto some lilac card first. I then embossed some pumpkin coloured cordinations card using a pumpkin design.

I hope you all enjoy this 'Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness'  and join us in our challenge this week. Just remember to use something from a CD and mention which one you have used in your post.

Birthday for a Golfer

I used a Popcorn rubber stamp on a shape cut using a spellbinders die. I used distress inks in Mown Grass and Tumbled Glass for the background. The ink was applied using Inkylicious brushes . The backing paper is from the coordinating CD from Crafters Companion Popcorn the Bear triple CD.

I'm entering this in the Birthday Challenge on Crafters Companion Blog this month as part of their birthday celebrations.

CD Sunday - Christmas

Good morning everyone. I'm late posting today as we have the grandchildren staying for the weekend and my normal routines have been disrupted slightly!!!!

There is lots of news this week before I tell you about my card. Firstly we  must say a very big thank you to last months guest, Kevin, who made some fantastic cards for us.

There is also some sad news as we are losing one of our founder team members. Wendy M was the one who had the idea for this challenge blog and was instrumental in setting it up.  Wendy used to challenge herself to do a cd card every Sunday and this is where the idea and the choice of day came from. Thank you from me for the opportunity to be part of such a lovely team Wendy.  I join my fellow teamies in wishing you well in new ventures and look forward to seeing you in blog land.

As this is the start of another month (where does the time go?) we have another guest with us, Sue and we have an amazing card from her to start off the month so I hope you will join me in welcoming her to our happy team.

We have a sponsor for our challenge this week as it's the first Sunday in the month. Caroline of Carolines Digi Stamps, has has offered a prize of a digi kit of the winner's choice so I hope you will join in and be in with the chance of winning.

We were each given one of the Christmas Digi kits and this is what I have used to produce my design for this week.

The folder I had to work with was Happy Hollydays. I used all the elements in CAP and then added a backing paper, punched around the page with a Martha Stewart snowflake design and mounted the whole thing onto a 7 x 7 card. The only other thing I added was the gingham bow.

I hope you like it and I can't wait to see what you make for us this week with our theme of Christmas. xx

It's Tea Time at CD Sunday

As it's Tea Time I used a template of a tea pot for the base of my card. I then used MCS with A Very Important Date and MCS C&C Floral for the BP to create the image for my tea pot. I used the BP to make the matching cup and saucer to go with it. The DT at CD Sunday this week have some lovely inspiration for you so why not go on over and take a look.  We still have our guest DT member, Kevin with us too.

Why not pop the kettle on while you think up a lovely design to share with us this week.

CD Sunday - Awash with Flowers

I had a lovely day out at the craft show at Sandown Race Course in Surrey yesterday and the sun shone all day. I just hope that today is as nice because dear friends of ours are celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.

Its also a new week at CD Sunday and this time our theme, chosen by Carol, is Awash with Flowers. I've used an image and backing paper from Joanna Sheen's If Flowers Could Talk CD and as the words are about music I used a couple of Marianne dies to continue the musical theme. I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs and seeing lots of flowers and floral inspired designs.

To join in just remember to use something from a CD on your work and tell us which one/s you used. :-)

CD Sunday - Feline Friends

I'm a bit late posting today as we have been away over night helping celebrate a 60th birthday.

Anyway on to the challenge this week at CD Sunday and Beryl has chosen our theme this week - Feline Friends, so I hope you have fun with this one.

I've used an image and backing papers from a new CD by Cupcake called Magical Christmas Moments . There are some lovely images of all sorts of animals that are ideal for all the Christmas cards we all need to make.

I started by covering a 7" x 7" card with a muted backing paper from the CD. I then took a coordinating backing paper in CAP and added the main image. I then played around with adding some words and the row of stockings changing the colour to fit my design. I then printed it out and matted onto some cordinations card stock and attached to my card. I've used a Marianne die for the pine branch and added some ribbon to finish my card.

I hope you join in and enjoy our challenge this week.

Birthday Boy

For this card I started with a 7" x 7" card. I then printed off one of the sheets from "The Big One Decoupage CD Rom" which gives a back ground and some decoupage. I cut some acetate so that it fitted the front of my card with enough down the left hand side so that I could wrap it around the back of the base card and attach it with double sided tape. I matted the background onto some card that I had punched using a Martha Stewart border punch and put this on the front of the card underneath the acetate. I then cut out the decoupage of the chap sitting on the barrel. There are two views, front and back so I layered the front view onto the front of the acetate and then added the rear view onto the inside of the acetate (see below).

I then added the sparkly numbers as this is for a big birthday and edged the acetate with the same colour so that it stands out.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Crafty Sentiments - Male card
DYSU - Birthdays

Thank you for looking.

Look what I spotted

Here is a card that I was asked to make for a friend to give to her husband. I started by creating an octagon card base on a scoring board and then used different papers and card to make the smaller layers to mat the main image on. The main image came from Joanna Sheen's Nostalgia Collection CD. The spotty backing paper accompanies this image on the CD. I finished by cutting out a couple of old railway tickets from a backing paper by Robert Addams on his Vintage Transport CD.

I'm entering the following challenges with this one:

Joanna Sheen - Going Dotty
Allsorts - Layers
Cutie Pie - No flowers
Tuesday Alchemy - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments - Male Card

CD Sunday Need for Speed

Good morning, another bright sunny one here. This week our theme is Need for Speed.

I've used the following CDs to create my card:

MCS - Tinkering with Steampunk and A Very Important Date

The white rabbit is decoupaged over a Tim Holtz die, weathered clock. I added a couple of tags stamped onto kraft card and then attached them using a brad and bakers twine.

There is lots of lovely inspiration over at the CD Sunday Challenge blog by our guest for this month, Kevin as well as my follow teamies.

I hope you have lots of fun with our challenge this week and look forward to visiting your blogs.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

CD Sunday Allsorts

We have a sponsor this week at CD Sunday

so a prize is on offer for one lucky person.

We have a new guest for this month and we are lucky to have  Kevin joining us. If you would like to see more of Kevin's great work do visit his blog.

For my card this week I used the CD Twelve Crafters Crafting by Funky Hand and had great fun using all the lovely backing papers and images on the CD. I printed off the background bauble paper and used some spray & sparkle by Crafter's Companion to give it some glitz. I used a Spellbinder bauble die to cut a window in the plain green card (it's the new shape for 2012). I then cut two different backing papers into strips so that I could do some paper weaving and then matted this onto some gold mirri card. I printed out the robin and holly from the CD. I used two images of the robin so that I could decoupage him slightly and then added some glitter. I used card candi for the holly berries and then die cut the poinsetta using gold mirri, the bauble backing paper and some green card with card candi in the centre.

There is lots of inspiration for you this week using a variety of CD's from Funky Hand to get you started. Our theme is Allsorts so I am sure you will have all sorts of ideas to join in our challenge. Just remember to use something from a CD in your design and don't forget to mention which CD you have used.

Getting Sentimental

I've got some dear friends who will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary next month and thought this would make an ideal card to mark the occasion.

I started with an 8" x 8" octagon shape that I made using a scoring board. The backing paper and main sentiment are from Joanna Sheen's If Flowers Could Talk CD which contains the art work of Jayne Netley Mayhew and the poetry of Patience Strong. A beautiful CD that is useful for so many occasions. The leaves and butterflies are die cut.

I'm entering this in the following challenges:

Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog Totally Sentimental
Fab n Funky - Leaves
Divas by Design - Anything Goes

CD Sunday - Game On

It's my turn to choose the theme for CD Sunday this week and this week it is Game On. There are lots and lots of different types of games to choose from and I picked this lovely image of cricket on the village green from Joanna Sheen's Nostalgia Collection CD. When I was growing up my Dad played cricket every weekend in the summer and this reminds me of those days when the sun shone every day (sigh!). I've used bakers twine to tie up my bunting and a stripey paper from Buzz Craft.

We still have the lovely Michelle with us as our Guest DT and she has a lovely card to show you this week.

My fellow teamies have made some wonderful cards too with lots of different kinds of games so do pop over to CD Sunday Challenge Blog and join in the fun this week. All we ask is that you use something from a CD somewhere on your creation but you can add lots of other things too if you wish.

CD Sunday - Cute Christmas

This week was Jenny's turn to choose our theme at CD Sunday and it is Cute Christmas with Elegant Inspiration. I've used the CD Christmas Comfort by Elegant Inspiration to make my card this week. Both backing papers and the main image are all from the CD I just added some plain card to mat and layer and some die cutting. I used a distressing tool and sanding block to give it a slightly aged feel and just finished off with some ribbon.

We have a bit of a treat for you this week as we have an extra gift to give away. We have been given a copy of the latest cd from Elegant Inspiration - Christmas Comfort, to give to the winner of our top three this week so please do play along with our challenge for a cute Christmas (and don't forget to tell us which CD you have used).
