Christmas Gift Boxes

I always make little boxes with chocs inside for girlfriends when we meet up, especially at Christmas. 

Here are this year's Christmas collection.

These are for childhood friends.

And these are for previous work colleagues. We now call ourselves 'The Kitchen Club'.

 

Last but by no means least is our Christmas trip to Plumpton Racecourse.

I used a Tonic die for the cracker shape and papers from Crafter's Companion to decorate. The white pointsettias are a Tattered Lace die and the ivy leaves I've had in a box for a very, very long time. 

I also made a little card to celebrate the day using Co-pilot. Inside it reads Wishing you a Very Merry Plumpton.

I designed and created this image using Co-pilot. It is a special card for my hairdresser. I think it looks quite like him so I hope he likes it. Lol.

Jo is our host at CD Sunday Plus challenge this time. 

Here is my card.   

I used the House Mouse Decoupage CD from Joanna Sheen for the main image of this card for a friend's golden wedding anniversary.  

I made a card base using two sheets of A4 cut to  22cm x 6". (Inches and cms! but it worked better that way for me). I made a score line at 1 1/4" on the top piece of card for the opening. I punched three holes down the left hand side at 1", 3" and 5" to thread the ribbon through and tie in a bow.

Here is my card.   

The main image and backing papers are from British Wildlife Vol III CD with artwork by Pollyanmna Pickering and produced by Creative Crafting World.

The die cut acorns are from Carnation Crafts using their downloadable vignettes.

I cut the sentiment four times and layered it up to make it stand up from the card. I also layered the acorns but not quite so much.

The cherry backing paper is from the Mabel Lucie Attwell Volume II CD by Katy Sue Designs.

The mice who are getting up to mischief are downloads used with dies from Carnation Crafts. 

I made the brick background using a stencil from Clarity and Distress Inks - Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick. 

The sentiments are from Hunkydory and called Just My Type.

The teddy bear image is from the Meadow Cottage Bears CD with artwork by Christine Haworth from Crafter's Companion. The Pink roses in the corner are a download and die from Tattered Lace. The pink gems were made using Tonic Nuvo Drops.

APPLES 2025

 Autumn in the garden seems to have come early this year. It has meant that we have been busy picking our apples. Unfortunately I had a bit of a mishap two weeks ago, lost my balance and ended up with the garden furniture breaking my fall. This was the bruising down my left side.  Good job I wasn't up a ladder at the time!

Thankfully the bruises are fading now and I've been using Arnica Cream twice a day which has helped.

Anyway it didn't stop the Apple Chutney production for this year.

I also decorated some little gift bags for the jars I am giving to friends. I made the labels using an on-line site called https://www.jamlabelizer.com/browse

This site has a range of different labels and colours, some of which are free to use and print on your home printer. 

As we had more apples left over I decided to make some Apple and Damson Jam which I am quite pleased with. 

We don't have a Damson tree in our little garden but our lovely Greengrocer has them for sale at this time of year. It's a bit fiddly getting the stones out of the fruit but the end result is worth it. 

It's a more grown up version of Jam and not too overly sweet.

For this card I used an image and backing paper from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Triple CD Collection. 

I have had a huge number of envelopes that are a bit too large for an A5 size card for a very long time and have decided I must try and use some of them up. I made a card base using two sheets of A4 cut to  22cm x 6". (Inches and cms! but it worked better that way for me). I made a score line at 1 1/4" on the top piece of card for the opening. I punched three holes down the left hand side at 1", 3" and 5" to thread the ribbon through and tie in a bow. 

I'm quite pleased with the way this has turned out so you may see more like this shape cropping up over the year.
