CD Sunday - Spring is in the Air
Well it certainly feels more spring like this morning. We have some lovely sunshine here and as soon as I have finished this post we are going to have a walk along the seafront to blow the cobwebs away. I love that it doesn't get dark so early in the evenings now.
Here is my card for CD Sunday this week.
I used a backing paper from Toreads cd from Crafters Companion for one of the layers and the punched out flowers that I made using Petal Pairs punches. The harlequin background is stamped using a set of stamps by Inky Doodles using Distress Inks. This was my first go at doing this so I was pleased with the result. I then just used Scattered Straw Distress Ink to soften the edges.
The cute Toread image was stamped onto white card and mounted onto card cut using a Spellbinder die. For a change I decided to use my long neglected Prisma Pencils. I didn't get on with them very well when I first bought them. It was using gamsol to blend the colour that I felt I couldn't get enough control over and then I saw a great tutorial on the web just using the pencils without gamsol and I feel really happy with the result. In fact I like the effect on the hair better than using alcohol pens. I might experiment and use the pencils for hair and do the skin tones with alcohol pens next and see how that works out.
Anyway that's my card for this week. Please do visit my fellow teamies as they all have some very different inspiration for you.
Thank you for looking.

On Your Bike - CD Sunday
This week at CD Sunday the theme is On Your Bike and has been chosen by Beryl.
I used Joanna Sheen Faye Whittaker CD for the bicycle wheel background. I stamped the bike which is a rubber stamp by Flower Soft and coloured this with alcohol pens in neutral shades. I then added some flowersoft to the baskets on the bike. I matted and layered with black card and finished off with some ribbon and braid tied in a bow. Don't forget to visit my fellow teamies for more inspiration this week.
Thank you for looking.

Showtime - CD Sunday
Our theme this week at CD Sunday has been chosen by Caz. I do hope you will play along. I really enjoyed making this one and hope you like it. I used a CD that I haven't visited for ages which is Joanna Sheen's Victorian Companion CD. I used two of the matching backing papers - the lower paper has clock faces on it so I over stamped the lighter backing paper at the top of the card with a rubber stamp clock dial. It also gave me an opportunity to use the Marianne die cut of a clock. The border and masks are Spellbinder dies. Don't forget to visit my fellow teamies for more inspiration this week.

Hello Doily - CD Sunday
It's my turn this week at CD Sunday to choose the theme for our challenge ........... so the challenge is Hello Doily. Please feel free to interpret however you like, just remember to use something from a CD in your creation and mention in your blog which CD it is from.
Here is my card for this week:
The backing paper and image are from Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique CD. I've matted and layered onto black card and added some black lace and gems. I've also used a real doily cut in half behind the main image.
I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs to see what you do with our theme this week.

Forever in Blue Jeans - CD Sunday
We have snow! This is the first serious fall we have had and it is still coming down. It was only toying with us earlier in the week but this time it looks like it means business. On the plus side it is a very good excuse for staying in the warm and crafting. :-)
For our challenge at CD Sunday this week the theme is Forever in Blue Jeans and I'm sure you will have lots of ideas for this one. My fellow teamies and our GDT Sue from Sue's Crafty Corner have come up with lots of different ideas for you so do please go and take a look at their blogs.
For my card this week I used two CDs! Robert Addams Vintage Transport CD for the Denim backing paper and Mimic Creations CD by The Card Hut to create the main image. If you haven't seen this CD is it a fun one to play with as it has cartoon images of some of our favourite TV and film characters that can be used to create unique images for crafting. I used the characters from Top Gear for my card. The frame is also a feature of the CD. I then layered it and the backing paper onto silver mirri card but unfortunately the scan makes it look black. I then used a Spectrum Noir pen to colour some card candi and used a Marianne die for the Happy Birthday.
