Shabby Chic

We have had some very sad news at CD Sunday.  We were all very shocked to learn of the death of Wendy (known to us all as Purple Crazy when she was part of our Design Team).  I would like to send my sincere condolences to her family.

Next month we are planning something special to celebrate Wendy’s life on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog.

Shabby Chic is the theme for the next two weeks which was chosen by  Sue. I do hope you enjoy this theme and look forward to seeing you joining in. The design team have lots of inspiration for you on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog

Here is my shabby chic card. I used an 8 x 8 base card to start. I then printed two sheets of backing papers from Vintage Floral Papercrafting Collection CD by Crafter's Companion and used an enbossing folder on the piece I have used for the lower half of the card. The sentiment comes from the same CD. I have used Jute and some cotton lace to add some texture. The image of the teddies having tea al fresco is a rubber stamp from Crafter's Companion stamped onto kraft card and coloured in.

The leaves and roses are die cut using cordinations card. The leaves are a Sue Wilson die and the rose is from Crafter's Companion.

I'm now off to do the difficult job of choosing my top three from the last challenge of Everything Stops for Tea.

  1. This is such a cute image Jocelyn.......great colouring in. I love the texture of the embossing folder. Can I ask which folder it is as I think my crafters would find this useful. This looks like a very tactile card with all the added materials......the leaves look like lace too. W x

    1. Hi Wynn the embossing folder is Crafter's Companion, one of their texture range called - Distress.

  3. Beautiful Jocelyn, I love the image and the wonderful leaf dies (I've had my eye on these for a while now, think I'll have to cave in and buy them) they look great with the large rose's you've used in the corners.
