#125 - Anything Goes

Merry Christmas everyone!

This is our last challenge for this year  and we will be back on 4th February with our first challenge for 2024. We are having a slightly extended break to give a couple of our team members time to recover from illnesses.

This week it's  Carol's  turn to host the challenge at CD Sunday Plus.

Here is my card.

I made this card using an image and matching backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Christmas Cards CD. The snowflake border die is from Sue Wilson's Festive Collection by Creative Expressions.

I printed out a matching insert and then used a wood mounted rubber stamp from Inkadinkado for the greeting. I then spent the rest of the day singing it to myself lol.

Here is a link to a Frank Sinatra version

I had some images left over so used one to decorate the back of the card.

If you would like to join in this challenge you can find all the details of how to enter on our blog - CD Sunday Plus Challenge Blog.

Our theme is Anything Goes, all we ask is that you use a CD, digi or USB somewhere in your design that has been printed out and made up into your card or project and let us know which one you used. You will find all the details of how to enter and play along with us over on the main blog here.

I can't believe that another year is nearly over and I've been busy making Christmas Treat Boxes ready for meeting up with girlfriends for our Christmas get together.

#124 - Anything Goes

This time it is my turn to host the challenge at CD Sunday Plus.

Here is my card.

The backing paper is from Vintage Christmas CD by Crafter's Companion and the main image is from Enchanted Christmas CD by Joanna Sheen. This lovely image of the snow people is one of my favourites from this CD.

The ivy leaves are from Crafter's Companion
.

The greeting is from Hunkydory's 'Just my Type Christmas Sentiment Strip Pad'.

The greeting reminded me of this song -
'Baby It's Cold Outside'

#123 - Anything Goes

It's Margaret's turn to host the challenge this fortnight at CD Sunday Plus.

I used two matching backing papers from the Magical Christmas Moments CD by Cupcake Crafting and a robin from the Fledglings die set by two Red Robins along with the corresponding download.

The two holly circle dies are by Sweet Dixie from the Circular Holly Frame Set. I added flat backed beads by Kort and Godt to the inner frame. I bought these beads from Joanna Sheene's website many years ago and they come in handy to add small details.

The Merry Christmas die is by Gemini Expressions from Crafter's Companion.

I had some papers left over so decided to decorate the back of the card as well.

Pumpkin Treats

I've had my knitting needles out recently to make a few of these beauties in time for Halloween.

It is just the right size to fit a Chocolate Orange.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Treat Boxes

No tricks, only Treats!

I've been busy making a batch of these treat boxes ready for meeting up with girlfriends.

I cut the shape for the top of the box out using double sided sticky sheets and then stuck the 'trick or treat' message over the top and used gilding flakes to make the background. I then peeled off the other side of the sticky sheet and attached it to the box lid.

There are lots of extra embellishments to add to the boxes in this Tonic die set and I chose the spider's web ones for the outside of my boxes.

These boxes go together beautifully and the lids once fully assembled fit perfectly.

Here is one showing the contents. I managed to get 6 Maltesers chocolates and a chocolate eyeball in each one.

#118 - Anything Goes

Margret is hosting the challenge this fortnight at CD Sunday Plus.

Here is my card.

I lost a friend earlier this year to ovarian cancer. It was very sudden and shocked us all. This is the card I made for the family.

I made this card using backing paper and the main image from a CD from Joanna Sheen called If Flowers Could Talk. I removed the verse that was on the original image and replaced it with one I had found on the internet.

I used two dies from the Winter White Collection by Crafter's Companion to make the flowers and leaves. The stamens are also from the same collection.

I then used Nuvo Watercolour Pencils from Tonic Studios to colour the petals to look like lilies.

I used another verse from the internet on the insert.

I then lined the envelope to finish it off.

Autumn = Apples

Does anyone else feel as if Autumn has arrived early this year, or is it just me? With the apples ripening fast on our trees and strong winds blowing them down we decided it was time to pick some before they all end up bruised and broken on the ground.

That meant I had to get the apple peeling machine (it actually peels, slices and cores all in one go so brilliant for batch cooking) and my large pan out to make this year's batch of apple chutney using a recipe that my friend Carol gave me some years ago now.

It takes a few days to do all the cooking and then put it all into jars and label up but this year's batch is now finished and looks like this.

The photo on the front of the label is actually me holding one of last year's beautiful apples. I use the website Jam Labelizer each year to make my labels. You can find them here:

#110 - Anything Goes

It's Carols turn to host the challenge this fortnight at CD Sunday Plus.

Here is my card.

I used an image from the internet for the main image. For the background I printed a plain coloured sheet from A Traditional Christmas on The Paper Boutique Paper Pantry USB Volume III. I then took the accompanying verse from the internet image into Craft Artist 2 programme. I changed the font and colour of the text and then repeated it across the page and printed it on top of the plain colour to make my backing paper. I matted this and the main image onto some olive green card from Tonic Studios and added a few die cut flowers and leaves.

I printed another plain coloured sheet and added the verse on the left hand side to create a matching insert.

Here is the verse:
