CD Sunday Sketch

This week at CD Sunday we have a sketch for you designed by Jenny.

Here is my version:

I've used S.W.A.L.K. CD2 by Crafter's Companion for the backing paper and used a SWALK stamped image coloured using promarkers. The daisy panel was made using a Sheena Douglas embossing folder with white card. I then rubbed a distress ink pad over the embossed daisies, gave it a spritz with a mica spray and when it had dried I coloured the background with a promarker.

There is lots of inspiration and ideas of how to use Jenny's sketch over on the CD Sunday challenge blog so why not have a look and then show us what you can do.

The shells and circle dies are by Marianne, the swirl is a Magnolia die. The paper within the circle and the pink spotty ribbon are magazine giveaways and I finished off by adding a shell charm.

Keep Calm and Carry On

I've used some backing papers from MCS to make this Jubilee card. The stamp is Little Bert from Little Claires which I've coloured using Promarkers and some small bits of paper piecing. I bought this stamp on my last visit to the Ally Pally craft show back in April but this is the first time I have used it. He is such a Cutie. The bunting is attached using two eyelets. I've used a sketch from Sketch and Stash for the design.

I am entering this card for the following challenges:

Sketch & Stash - 90 Free Choice Sketch No. 7 + a stamp not used before.
Little Claires - Jubilee
Cupcake - Something in the Eyelet

Our theme this week at CD Sunday is Delicious Damask. I've used a backing paper from Artylicious Damask Delights CD. The bird and birdhouse are Marianne dies, the leaves are Magnolia dies and the frame the little character is sitting in is cut using spellbinder dies. The wording is also a Marianne die.

The stamp is Mimosa Hat by Bildmalarna coloured using Flex markers and promarkers.

There is some fabulous inspiration for you from my fellow teamies this week so do check it out at CD Sunday and join us for this week's challenge.

One for the Boys

My card is for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 86 Maria Therese's Sketch.

I've had a rummage through my scrap box and found this backing paper that I printed ages ago for another project, I can't remember which CD it was from though. If I was more organised I would make a note on the back of papers before they go into the box (yeah, like that will ever happen!). I then used some cordinations card which I embossed with this great cogs design and sanded to make the background panels for this cool dude.

Here Comes the Sun

Here is my card for this week's HM&FMC - Here comes the sun.

The frame and leaves are Marianne dies, the swirls are a Magnolia die and the embossing folder is a Beatrix Potter one by Crafters Companion.  Colouring with alcohol pens.

Beautiful Ballerinas

Our challenge this week is Beautiful Ballerinas at CD Sunday.

I've used Backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Ivory Cats CD. The Bluebell wood photo is my own that I took a few weeks back while out walking with friends.

I've had a busy weekend at the wedding of the friends that we went on the bluebell walk with but I'm back to add a few more details about my card.

The ballerinas are a Marianne die, one of which I cut out of a sheet of double sided sticky and covered with glitter to give an ethereal look.  The punched out bluebells were made using a small bell shaped punch.

Where will your ballerinas be dancing this week?

Gorgeous Green

Our theme for this week at CD Sunday is Gorgeous Green. For my card this week I've used an 8 x 8 card. The  bamboo leaves backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's Tales of the Orient CD and I've matted this onto some plain green card and attached it to the card front.  I printed the lovely Panda from Joanna Sheen's Animal Antics CD and mounted this onto silver mirri card and used a Martha Stewart punch around the page. The leaves were die cut using a Marianne die and the Happy Birthday stamp is by Lili of the Valley. I then added some spotty ribbon and an oriental charm.

This week we say goodbye and thank you to Sueb for being our lovely GDT for last month.  Sue did a great job for us with some lovely cards to give you all some inspiration for our challenges.

As some of you will know we recently put out a DT call for a volunteer to join our happy little band. In the end we decided to chose two new members as it was so hard to select only one. So a big welcome to Beryl and Caz and as you will see they have made a super start. Do go and check out what all the team have been up to this week and give the girls a big welcome.

I'm looking forward to seeing all your Gorgeous Green creations this week and in the meantime I hope you enjoy the Jubilee celebrations. Have fun! xx

Wish you were here

Welcome to June and a new challenge at Debbees CD's Challenge. There are some fun, summertime papers for you to download for free and work with this month and my fellow teamies and I are looking forward to visiting your blogs and seeing what you have made. As always there is a prize for the winner from Debs.

I started by using one of the large Spellbinder dies to cut my base card and folded this in half. I then used a smaller die to cut the backing paper (I love this one with the sunglasses on but Debs has generously provided lots more to choose from for your design). I cut a smaller shape from the same card and then cut the picture slightly smaller again. Wish I had invented these dies, they are such a must have in all the shapes and all the sizes! I decided to just decoupage the leaves on the palm trees so that these are slightly outside the frame. To finish I used some raffia and bakers twine together with a couple of paper flowers and pearls. I also used an old Sizzix die to cut the shell and added a little glitter.

I don't know what that bird is drinking but he looks to me as if one more and he will be doing a back flip out of that hammock! lol!

Sadly, this will be the last challenge from Debbees for the foreseeable.
