CD Sunday - Fifties Fun

We have a new challenge at CD Sunday this week. Fifties Fun!

My first card is using Joanna Sheen's Viva La Divas CD which has some really fun images.

The image for my second card this week is from Strictly Card Dancers. Quite appropriate as we had the final of Strictly on TV last night. I made this card to celebrate a 50th Wedding Anniversary. I used my Cricut for the letters and numbers.

As we are only one week away from Christmas (eek!) the challenge will be open for two weeks.

The rest of the DT have made some lovely cards so do please go and have a look and join in the fun.

Things with Whiskers

Well its week 2 of our challenge at CD Sunday and this week I've used backing papers and borders together with a tag image from The Rachelle Anne Miller Collection CD. You will find details here.

This is a really lovely CD and the winner of our challege will be lucky enough to get a copy so why not join in our challege and show us what you can make. I'm looking forward to visiting your lovely blogs.

Things with Whiskers

Good morning everyone. I've just arrived back from a week in Egypt and have been busy visiting your blogs and catching up with all that has happened while I've been away. As it is the start of a new month we have another sponsored challenge at CD Sunday.

This month we are sponsored by Elegant Inspiration, a new company with some great ideas and their new cd is proof of this. Not only are there lovely images to inspire you but there are cutting files for use with electronic cutting machines or to print and cut by hand.

Jo has very kindly given us a cd for the prize so come on and join us so you too could win a copy. The design team have been given a copy each but the cd's didn't get to all of the team members (me included!) in time for them to do anything this week but because December is such a busy month for everyone, our challenges will be running for two weeks so we will all have something more to show you from the cd next week.

We also have a new guest designer with us this month and I would like to welcome Beryl who will be playing along with us this month and in January too.

For my card this week I used a bp and some decoupage from Crafters Companion Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes CD. I used an EK Success punch for the button border (a favourite of mine at the moment). Some die cut swirls, paper flowers with a button centre, spotty ribbon (from Fantastic Ribbons) and a little charm to finish.

Please do go and have a look at what the rest of the DT have done this week and join in the fun.

CD Sunday - On Safari

Our challenge this week at CD Sunday is On Safari and I've used some lovely images and bp from The Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection CD by Joanna Sheen. The main image I printed twice so that I could decoupage it. I've added some lovely ribbon given to me by a dear friend and then cut a buckle in gold mirri card using a Memory Box die which I threaded with some natural coloured raffia.

My teamies have some great inspiration for you so do go and have a look and then join in the fun this week.

Bah Humbug - Boxes and Bags

I decided to make this box with an easel card on top for this week's Bah Humbug challenge.

I've used backing papers and an image from Debbees new CD First Christmas which is a really sweet CD of great toppers for this time of year with lovely backing papers too. You can find it HERE.

CD Sunday - Paisley Fun

Our theme at CD Sunday this week is Paisley Fun. I've used a backing paper from Filigree Fusion by Artylicious for the background and another paper to stamp onto for the sentiment and campervan. The stamps are by Kanban. I used an embossing folder for the cogs and added some gems.

Do go and have a look at what my teamies have done this week and also our guest Sue who has come up with another lovely card this week.

CD Sunday - Trees

Our theme at CD Sunday this week is Trees and my DT teamies and Sue, our guest DT member for this month, have come up with some lovely inspiration for you this week so do go over and have a look.

I've used Joanna Sheen's Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady CD for my backing paper on this one. I then used an embossing folder for the wood grain effect. For the main image I stamped the tree stamp which is one from Graphicus (now Chocolate Baroque) onto a nestie shape. I used distress ink around the edges before removing the die. I coloured the ribbon using distress ink and then stuck the individual flat back pearls on using my quickie glue pen.

I can't wait to visit your blogs and see how you interpret our theme for this week.

CD Sunday - Sunsets

I'm a bit late posting this week so apologies for that but I have been at the NEC for a couple of days followed by visiting family. I'm back home now - just! so trying to catch up.

This week's challenge is sponsored by Caroline of CaroLines Digistamps

The design team have had one of Caroline's digi kits to play with so do go and visit CD Sunday's blog and see what everyone has done with the digi kit. The prize this week is a digi image of your own choice.

We also have a new guest for this month and this time it is Sue's turn. This is where you will find Sue - Sue's Crafty Corner

For my card I worked with the digi images in MCS and incorporated an image from A Walk in Wonderland CD.

CD Sunday - Puss Cat

Our theme this week at CD Sunday is Puss Cat. I've used this lovely image and backing paper from Joanna Sheen's 'The Jayne Netley Mayhew Collection' CD. I've had the 'Meow' ribbon in my (rather large!) ribbon stash for quite some time and was pleased to be able to use it for my card this week. I also stamped one of Joanna Sheen's House Mouse meeces who is pointing at puss with a cheeky look on his face. I've used bakers twine for the bow and attached a paw print charm.

I hope you enjoy our theme this week. Our DT have come up with some great ideas this week.

I'm looking forward to visiting your blogs and seeing all your creations.

Bah Humbug - With Men in Mind

My card for the Bah Humbug challenge this week is for OH. I've used some decoupage featuring Hammy and Pammy Hamster by B-C-E. I used a new die by Memory Box for the snow flurries in the corners and spellbinder snowflake dies with card candy middles for the group of three snowflakes. I've also added some ribbon and heart shaped hat pins.

CD Sunday - Halloween

We've gone all spooky this week at CD Sunday for our Halloween theme and there are some hauntingly good cards by my fellow DT friends so why not go over and have a look and all the lovely inspiration this week.

I chose an image from Card Creations Plus CD called A Touch of Magic using the artwork of Linda Ravenscroft. There are some lovely designs and delicious backing papers etc. to choose from on this CD. The only extras I added are a few die cut embellishments.

Bah Humbug - Good to Eat

Bah Humbug's challenge this week is Good to Eat and what could be better at Christmas than Mince Pies!

Crafters Companion Challenge 17

CD Sunday - Around the World

At CD Sunday we have all been busy travelling "Around the World" for our theme this week. Please do go and have a look at the fabulous cards the rest of the design team have to inspire you this week.

For my card I took a 7" x 7" base card and covered this with with a sheet of backing paper from Robert Addams Vintage Transport CD. I then went around the edges with Distress Ink to give it an aged look. Any of the sepia colours would work well for this depending on how dark you want to go. I then printed the old postcard image from Peerless Designs Woodland Fantasy CD. The stamp on the postcard came from Vintage Transport. The other images have been stamped. I was particularly pleased with the passport which is an unmounted stamp by Rubbernecker that I purchased at the Alexander Palace show last month. I stamped it onto red card and embossed it with WOW powder in gold. I then used Distress Ink around the edges.

The Tilda stamp by Magnolia was coloured using a mixture of alcohol pens. The two tags are by LOTV and finished off with bakers twine.

I am looking forward to visiting your blogs to see all the different projects you create.

CD Sunday - Nature's Wonders

I can't believe that in all this glorious sunshine it is now October and I have some very exciting news.

Today I have joined the CD Sunday Design Team. Thank you so much ladies for asking me to join you and I would like to take this opportunity of sending my good wishes to Tess.

The first week of the month is a sponsored week as always and this month we have as our very generous sponsor Sue Wilson of Creative Expressions. The prize for the lucky winners whose names are drawn is a share of 4 sets of Christmas Stamps. We are very grateful to Sue for her generosity.Sue very kindly sent the design team a set of stamps called Nature's Wonders to play with and we have all come up with very different ideas, so why not head over to CD Sunday to join in the fun.

I used a mixture of the stamps to create my own backing paper by stamping all over a piece of plain white card in Dee Gru8ening's Shades of Turquoise Blending Blox. The lovely sentiment is from the same sheet of stamps.

I've used a lovely image from the Enchanted CD by Card Creations Plus which uses the artwork of Linda Ravenscroft for the main image.

I've used a Martha Stewart border punch, a cuttlebug die for the butterfly with cordinations card which I have sanded, some ribbons and a charm to finish off.

I'm looking forward to visiting you in blog land so dust off those CDs and I'll come and see you soon. :-)

CD Sunday Challenge - Alphabets - M is for ....

..... MUM. A friend asked me to make an 80th birthday card for her Mum. She loves daffodils so this image and backing paper from Joanna Sheen's Elegant Fans CD was just perfect. It fits nicely on an 8x8 card which is my favourite size of card at the moment.

This is for the 'M' challenge over at CD Sunday this week.

Bah Humbug - Paper Weaving

As luck would have it the new Spellbinder dies I had ordered arrived today and I've used the new Christmas Ornament die on my card for this week at Bah Humbug.

I used the largest ornament shape and also the second largest square from the set of grand spellbinder dies and passed this once through the Grand Calibur to cut the two shapes so that I had an apperture to do my paper weaving. I then mounted it onto gold mirri card and then on to an 8x8 square card and finished off with a gold bow. For the weaving I used a combination of some pretty gold and white paper from Crafters Companion and a sheet of gold Kings Foils that is embossed with the words Merry Christmas.

I really enjoyed making this card and might try something similar for a few other designs, so thank you to the ladies at Bah Humbug for the inspiration but not for the photograph of Incey!!

I'm feeling festive with Humphrey

On the 13th September 12 stamps and a twin CD set will be launched on Ideal World as Pick of the Day.

As part of Crafters Companion's launch celebrations, they are offering the chance to win the full Humphrey range - that's the twin CD and all twelve stamps! All you need to do is visit their blog to find out how.

CD Sunday - Just Because

Just Because ......... 60 years ago the couple in the photo fell in love and got married.

I've used a backing paper from MCS Floral Masterpieces for the background to this card. The colours used are taken from the bouquet and bridesmaids' dresses. The dresses were pale green and the bride carried a bouquet of bronze crysanthamums.

I've used Marianne dies for the flowers (card candy for the middles), swirls and leaves, Spellbinders for the banner and my Cricut for the numbers which I've cut twice with the darker colour card as a shadow. I then sat and placed tiny crystal gems around the numbers.

I was asked by a friend at work to make this for her parents special day.

This is for this week's challenge from CD Sunday.

CD Sunday Challenge - Bling it Up

I was asked this week to make a wedding card for this coming Saturday. The friends who asked for the card have a caberet act with the Groom based on The Rat Pack so they wanted a card that would reflect that. No pressure there then!

I took an A3 card and folded it in half for the base of my card. I then decided to make my own backing paper in Word made up of some of the song titles repeated across the page which I printed out in pale grey.

I then used My Craft Studio Celebrations Volume 2 for the decoupage roses. I passed my backing paper through the printer a second time to print the first layer of the decoupage. I then mounted this onto some black paper embossed with roses. I printed, cut and addedthe other layers of the roses.

I've added a white ribbon, white pearl hearts and a Marianne die cut butterfly with a body of crystals to finish off.

I thought this would be nice for the CD Sunday challenge this week of "Bling it Up".
